The fishing grounds in Mag Bay are world-class, and there is no place in Baja as perfect for sportfishing. Tag Cabo Sportfishing has been running Mag Bay yachts out of Cabo San Lucas for over 12 years, and most of our captains are 3rd and 4th generation captains with big-game tournaments under their belts.
Whether you want to release as many striped marlin as possible in a day or fill the cooler with wahoo, tuna and dorado filets, our Mag Bay charters are the ideal choice from August to November.
The trip
We run our 70ft Hatteras "Reel Quest" with Captain Frankie Abaroa on 3–5 day overnight trips from Cabo San Lucas to Mag Bay. We board early on your preferred departure date and fish the entire run north — typically about 20 hours depending on wind and current. Once we reach the grounds we fish a full day, then head back on the third day.
What we target
- Striped marlin — catch and release
- Wahoo, yellowfin tuna and dorado
- Inshore options: snook, pargo, grouper, corvina, bonefish and more
Accommodation and crew
- Up to 8 anglers on board
- Personal chef cooking meals underway
- Two deckhands working alongside Captain Frankie
- Luxury sportfishing yacht with full staterooms
